What more intimate relationship is there than the one between mother and baby?
Having watched my daughter Chelsie in the time before Kennedy was born brought back all these memories. All through her pregnancy, we watched her fall in love with her unborn baby. We saw how excited she was every time she’d report just how big little “jelly bean” was. She followed the progress daily on a website that showed her exactly how big Kennedy was and what she looked like as she develooped.
We saw the excitement in her face when she showed us the ultrasound, and proudly announced that “it’s a girl”.
To this day, I love the look on her face every time she looks at her little girl. She’s a grown woman with a childlike excitement and sense of wonder in the fact that she actually has this beautiful little child; that God entrusted her with this new life.
Maternity and newborn portraits are very special to us. Having just gone through this experience with both daughters (Hollie lives in Italy, so we only got to experience it by telephone and email, and the occasional picture), we’re very much in tune with what’s going on in mom and dad’s life.
It’s because of this that we created our Baby Steps program; designed to celebrate the miracle that results in a new life, and capture the whole first year.
