Brothers and Sisters Portraits – A Very Special Relationship
There’s something special about the relationships between brothers and sisters.
They may fight like cats and dogs one minute, and be wonderful to each other the next.
But bottom line, there’s frequently a very special connection between them; one that may be tested when they’re younger, but hopefully will grow into something strong as adults.
That’s pretty much the case with Kennedy and Owen. At times they may pick on each other like any brother and sister. But underneath it all Kennedy adores her big brother, and Owen thinks his little sister is pretty great (as long as she stays out of his stuff!)
These portraits are from a series that we created last summer. My original idea was to have them sitting on the rock wall at Deepwood sharing an ice cream cone. Owen is very caring and nurturing of his big sister, and this seemed like something that they would actually do.
But for some reason or another, that idea wasn’t going to work, so we hit on this one. They both like to read, and I love the idea of Kennedy leaning on her big brother. I”m sure as they grow up, Kennedy will continue to look up to her big bro, and depend on him to support her as she follows in his footsteps
I recently posted these in the slideshow at the top of our website, and they’ve drawn so many comments that I thought I’d post them separately.
