If you love your dog like I love mine, then you’ll probably appreciate a quality family portrait featuring you and the furry one.

I read recently that a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than they love themselves. Maybe that’s why so many people think of their dogs as an integral part of the family, and not just a pet. I know I do.
This was one of Arielles senior pictures, but it could just as easily been from a family portrait series. Arielle has two yellow labs, Buddy and Charlie, and they’re her babies. We did the more traditional “everyone look at the camera” type photographs with her and the two of them, but Buddy went with us to the big open field that Arielle wandered all during her childhood.
There, we got the chance to capture some images that really explored the relationship between the two of them, and this was my favorite of them all. Buddy had been very busy digging out all the gophers in the 10 acre field, but he came running when she called him, and this was a totally natural moment between the two of them. I picked the location, got her in place, and had her call Buddy, but they took it from there.
You can just see the love between the two of them, can’t you?
Buddy is 8 years old. She’ll probably have him another 4-6 years, but after he’s gone, do you think she’ll treasure this moment and this photograph? I think so.
